About
The definition of TransMY encompasses the word trans and my where trans (trns) means; - across;
- on the other side;
- beyond; and on the other hand,
- is also a short for 'Transformers'
And MY refers to; - Malaysian domain addresses,
- A Malaysian and
- Of me or myself
Therefore, both trans and MY combined thus the word TransMY was born. In this context, TransMY bear the meaning of; - The expansion of the fandom out of it's homeland, the United States to the Malaysian soil,
- The Transformers fandom was equally shared and enjoyed by Malaysians like the rest of the world
- The fandom was founded by a Malaysian and dedicated back to the Malaysians.
During the time of founding till 2005, TransMY was an abbreviation of 'Malaysian Transformers Fandom Group'. Towards 2005 the name was changed to 'Transfans Malaysia as the latter was too lengthy and sounded lame! Also known as the Malaysian Transformers Fandom Group, TransMY's aims are to gather and unite all Transformers fans and collectors from Malaysia to provide a medium for information exchange, experience and fun with Transformers fandom. Members are currently made of old fans, rekindled fans and new fans alike where we try to stand as one of the biggest and united Transformers fan group, consumers and collectors based in Malaysia.  TransMY was founded on the 19th of June 2003 in Plymouth, UK with its original members comprising of two people, which was the Wong brothers themselves - C.Y.Wong a.k.a Cryotec (founder, later known as Astrosurge) and Michael Wong a.k.a 'Monksterism' (co-founder, later known as Monkticon). Right after the founding, TransMY resided in Yahoo! Groups as a small and unpopular online hobbyist group.
 The old group still exists although it has run actively during its actual service in the period of June 2003 - Mar 2004. For now it functions as a proxy to divert members to our current site. After around two months operating in Yahoo Groups, the founder decided to advertise TransMY in tformers.com; which was an international Transformers news portal based in the US. That is where few more members responded and joined TransMY immediately after the advert as released. With extensive knowledge of the fandom, some of them were promoted as moderators in the group and still serve as active moderators till present.
 On the 1st of March 2004, TransMY was migrated to a BB (Bulletin Board) styled website using phpBB as the platform hosted in phpbbhost.org, where they offer phpBB forums for free at that time. That was intended to be experimental at the beginning as the founder was keen on having TransMY as a portal instead of just a standalone bulletin board. The forum run well and gained more popularity locally. The forum was much more organised this time compared to the latter (Yahoo Groups) where discussion boards were broken into sections so that members can choose to interact in their favourite section. TransMY then moved a step further by migrating for the third time on the 1st of May 2004 to a CMS (Content Management System) using phpNuke hosted by timichost.net, thanks to Anthony Serrano the CEO of timichost.net (Timichost) who spotted me during my 'plea' for a free webhost in a web developers forum. Anthony was kind enough to sponsor us for approximately a year. During that time, the membership was steady and we were able to promote ourselves in prominent search engines like cari.com.my, yahoo.com and google.com. We also did some promotion in other transformers forums based in the US and UK, and for the second time, we promoted TransMY again in tformers.com which leads us to a membership of 67 during the time of that record.  We run the our very 1st Official Gathering on the 11th September 2004 with over 30 present. The second gathering followed up the year after that on the 19th February 2005 in conjunction of the founder's return to Malaysia, and the most recent one was held three days in Cineleisure, Mutiara Damansara from the 22nd-24th June. The third gathering was the biggest gathering ever as members participated in the event launched in conjunction of Michael Bay's blockbuster - Transformers Movie. The event attracted so much press coverage that many members was featured in major newspapers, magazine, radio station and even TV talk shows!  TransMY was officially 'branded' on September in he same year when a fellow member Tigatron (aka Kok Hoong), an honoured old timer completed his sketch, then designed and completed our very first logo based on a tiger motif which was a symbol of Malaysian national identity. In the following months of December 2005, TransMY acquired a webhost with a personal DNS server and migrated to the new webhost running a new CMS powered by 'Joomla'.  TransMY undergone another migration in December 2007 to a local based webhost thus successfully 'returned' home after so long being hosted overseas. TransMY will look forward in the future for much bigger social event to gather more fans gearing towards appreciating this fandom. The purpose of Transfans Malaysia's (TransMY) founding is to; - Provide fans a fulfilment via their old chilhood dreams
- Provide an alternative where collecting Transformers was a 'recognized' hobby
- Provide a hangout whrelike minded fans can exchange views and enjoy their hobby togeher without prejudice and obscurity.
- Provide information for the general public especially for the Asian stereotypical minds that toy collecting for adults is not embarassing
- Provide fans where they could use our platform to prove that their hobby is worthwhile and fulfiling.
- Provide a place where Transformers was idolised as a very mainstream and celebrated pop culture tha was recognised world wide.
- Provide an atmoshere where this hobby is both unisex and universal. Females are welcomed too!
- Provide information and catering all types of fans - toy collectors, show fans, creative art fans, rekindled fans etc
- Provide ways to liaise with other toy collecting groups proving Malaysian society is very much open to this type of culture.
- Provide medium for social networking to forge new friendships via our social activities such as gathrings and meetups

It has been a long wait & we would like to take this opportunity to apologise to our ardent fans. The long wait is due to a lot of software bug fixing and database conversion from two different platforms which we are not familiar with - Joomla CMS. As you appear in this page now; the frontpage that is, you will see a set of navigation on your left. This is your Main Menu. Main menu, which is self-explanatory is the main features in our site. There are certain features which is not visible as this is to deter non-registered visitors to use our features and to view some confidential information that was only make known to registered members. On main menu you could find: - Forum - this is where your main fun was centred. We have long abandoned phpBB now as this is Joomlaboard we are using now. Very classy and tidy just like phpBB with some extra features. You are allowed to upload pictures. The rule is PLEASE DO NOT UPLOAD LARGE PICTURES. The maximum WIDTH of each pic must not more than 500 PIXELS. We would also like to stress out that pics which is not related to subject/thread is not allowed. This include illegal material that contain sex, nudity, gore in nature is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Please quote the source where the pic was obtained. Failing to do so might land TransMY in big trouble if the proprietor of the material finds out and file us a lawsuit! - Cybertron Legacy - is a section where compilation of toylists across the Transformers generations are listed. You can find toylist & short synopsis of the show & toyline dated back from Generation One (G1) to the most recent Transformers Cybertron (Galaxy Force). Feel free to print the material as a personal check list. You will find tiny icons of Adobe PDF which means the page can be generated as PDF. Also, the materials are read-to-print materials as you can also find a tiny printing icon on the top right corner in the pages. This section is an ongoing project as we will soon add pictures and details of toys as well.
- Reviews - a section where members contribute reviews based on their own hauls to be shared with another members in the forum. Please contribute just & unbiased reviews as best as you can based on your experience. In case you need to contribute pics, you can hyperlink it from your own image hoster such as Photobucket, Flickr, Multiply etc but please do not exceed 500 pixels in WIDTH. Just in case you wish to use other people's pics, do credit them appropriately.
- Galleria - gallery section where members are allowed to upload photos. Please request an account from founder if you require an album. The quota for ordinary members is 50MB and administrators/moderators is 100MB. So you are free to upload the photos of your personal collections without using FTP but from the site itself. Please note that non-TF toys photos can only be uploaded if it was ACCOMPANIED along with some Transformers photos! Solely non-TF photos are not allowed as TransMY's main focus is Transformers! The maximum size of a photo that can be uploaded is 500x375 pixels. Please create your allocated gallery in MEMBERS directory. The gallery control panel for gallery is available in your User Menu. upon clicking it, your browser will open in a separate window for you to administer your gallery. Please ask founder if you need assistance as Gallery 2 (the package name) is fairly complicated to set-up for novices.
- Events - a calendar script, memo and dairy where you can record any important dates that we can all share. As defaults, Malaysian festivities will be recorded in advance. Do tune in to Events for upcoming activities organised by TransMY and its members. The menu is very straight forward.
- About - a short article about the founding of TransMY

- Contact Us - get in touch with the founder, admins & moderators. Only logged in users can view details of the runners of this site.

- Inter-FAQ - Interactive FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions), where you ask, we answer, as simple as that! There were common FAQs listed in that section as we might anticipate curious members would seek to find answers to those common questions. Only relevant questions will be entertained!
- Links - self-explanatory is a section where all relevant sites regarding to TransMY is compiled.
Below Main Menu as you have logged in you could find 'User Menu'. This section is only visible to logged-in users. In this section you will find; - Profile & Edit Profile - details about yourself. Feel free to put in any information you want. But do remember that exposing as much information might pose a threat to your own privacy. Be cautious.
- Forum Panel - Like Nick Kelsch's avatar? Set it from here. This avatars represent you in the forum. Also you can find another link to the forum rules and other menus as well.
- Gallery Panel - as mentioned above, this is the main page for gallery where you can find tools to upload your photos and administer your personal gallery.
- Messenger - private messaging making a come back with a new name and new system!
- Submit News - please contribute any TF related news to be featured in the frontpage. Only relevant ones will be approved.
- Submit URL - found new TF site? share it with us! Got a blog or wanna exchange links with us? Here's the place to do it.
- Submit Reviews - submit your best reviews about your recent hauls here and please put them in specified category to ensure the tidiness.

Berikut adalah panduan kasar bagaimana cara-cara untuk menggunakan laman web ini dengan lebih berkesan. Sila baca. Kami ingin mengucapkan selamat datang (sekali lagi!) kepada semua yang sudi menunggu kemunculan TransMY buat kali ketiga dalam tempoh 3 tahun. Kami ingin memohon maaf kepada semua kerana penangguhan yang lama sejak bulan Januari adalah disebabkan masalah teknikal ketika proses migrasi. Ia juga disebabkan migrasi ini berlaku diantara platform yang tidak serasi, iaitu dari phpnuke & Joomla, oleh itu ia memakan masa. Anda sekarang berada di laman utama, dan jika dilihat di sebelah kiri anda, anda akan terlihat menu utama. Menu ini adalah kelihatan untuk semua samada ahli yang berdaftar atau pun pelawat. Sekirannya anda mengakses (log-in), menu yang tersembunyi akan kelihatan. Ini kerana ada bahagian yang kritikal yang tidak boleh dikongsi oleh pelawat yang tidak berdaftar. Oleh itu ia hanya kelihatan sekiranya anda mengakses ke dalam. Dalam menu utama (main menu), anda akan dapati, bahagian-bahagian berikut yang tersenarai: - Forum - bahagian utama dalam TransMY yang sentiasa aktif dengan diskusi yang kritis & mendebarkan!. Sila-silalah bertandang ke forum untuk berkongsi pengalaman mengumpul, bertukar tukar fikiran & mengenali rakan-rakan baru. Forum kali ini membenarkan ahli memuat atas (upload) gambar untuk rujukan kepada sesuatu diskusi yang sedang berjalan. Elok diingatkan bahawa kami tidak membenarkan gambar yang besar di muat atas ke laman kami. Sebaik-baiknya, ukuran gambar mestilah bersaiz 500 piksel panjang. Jangan lupa sertakan sekali sumber dimana gambar tersebut dirujuk dalam bentuk bertaip. Ini adalah bertujuan untuk menghargai hak milik intelek seseorang individu. Janganlah disebabkan kelekaan anda, TransMY disaman kerana melanggar undang-undang hak milik intelek orang lain! Juga diingatkan gambar yang mengandungi unsur-unsur lucah, seks dan keganasan adalah ditegah sama sekali. - Cybertron Legacy - adalah bahagian dimana senarai permainan TF berdasarkan generasi-generasi dari tahun yang terdahulu hingga sekarang boleh didapati. Senarai tersebut boleh dijadikan rujukan untuk anda mencari dan melengkapkan koleksi anda. Ikon kecil di bahagian atas, sebelah kanan ada tersedia ikon PDF dan senarai tersebut sudah tersedia untuk di cetak bila bila masa atau dipapar dalam format PDF. Bahagian ini adalah bahagian yang masih berkembang dan dimasa-masa akan datang kami akan menyertakan gambar untuk rujukan yang lebih berkesan.
- Reviews - bahagian ini adalah ruangan pendapat mengenai sesuatu produk Transformers. Ruangan ini dikendalikan oleh anda dan sesiapa sahaja boleh menyatakan pendapat masing-masing mengenai sesuatu koleksi di bahagian ini. Sayugia diingatkan, sekiranya anda ingin memberikan pendapat biarlah bernas dan tidak berat sebelah. Ini kerana ia akan dirujuk oleh ahli-ahli yang tidak semestinya berpengalaman. Sekiranya informasi yang tidak jitu dan berkesan diberikan, ia akan memberikan gambaran yang kurang jelas terhadap produk tersebut.
- Galleria - Ruangan galeri photo dimana anda dibenarkan memuat atas (upload) photo koleksi masing-masing. Untuk membuka ruangan galeri sendiri untuk tatapan semua, silalah berhubung dengan admin supaya anda diberikan akaun. Galeri gambar akan diagihkan berdasarkan kuota iaitu 50MB kepada ahli biasa dan 100MB kepada para moderator/admin. Saiz maksimum yang dibenarkan semasa memuat atas foto adalah 500x375 piksel. Gambar yang terlalu besar akan merencatkan paparan laman tersebut. Sila memuat atas hanya foto asli milik sendiri! Jangan memplagiat gambar orang lain! Gambar koleksi yang bukan TF hanya boleh dimuat atas sekiranya disertakan sekali foto koleksi TF. Foto koleksi yang TIDAK berorientasikan TF langsung tidak dibenarkan ini kerana fokus sebenar laman ini adalah berteraskan TF semata-mata. 'Control panel' untuk ke laman galeri boleh didapati di 'User Menu'. Laman tersebut adalah laman administrasi galeri gambar. Sekiranya anda tersangkut, silalah rujuk kepada moderators/admin.
- Events - merupakan takwim dimana anda boleh merekod aturcara sesuatu aktiviti atau ingin berkongsi tarikh-tarikh penting bersama ahli lain. Takwim tersebut telah dilengkapkan dengan cuti-cuti am di Malaysia. Silalah merujuk kepada takwim dari masa ke semasa untuk mengetahui aktiviti aktiviti yang akan datang.
- About - sejarah ringkas mengenai penubuhan kelab pengumpul ini.
- Sitemap - tersedia lengkap jaringan pemetaan kesemua bahagian yang terkandung di laman web ini.
